Riley had asked her to come with her to Jesse's, finally done with all of her manipulation after putting together the pieces. She was of no mind to be a martyr to the sectionist cause of the Resistance. She had enough being a toy.

But Aria had a bad feeling about this. She wasn't sure how the fight would go, who would win. She didn't want Riley to die. She loved her, John loved her too much. So she requested that Rowan stay close around the neighborhood. He too wanted a piece of that bitch for seducing his Mate. Just in case.

But what Aria hadn't counted on was the wall thickness. Most hotels, if not all, had thin walls. But now she knew why Jesse had chosen this place - the walls were naturally thick, and Jesse would never, ever use Eater-based technology based on her hate of them. Aria could hear, but not well. She could hear muffled things, some words coming through just barely. She forced and augmented her ability through Lilith, but still. She couldn't keep track.

Until she heard the gunshot. She called in Rowan, their emergency code. Told him to bring med supplies, alert EEE. They had a traitor on their hands. She needed the Star.

Seconds too late. Seconds fucking too late.

She tried the door - unlocked - and busted her way in. Riley was slumping to the floor, bleeding from the shoulder. Lilith was in control now. She ran as fast as she could, dodging more bullets, and found Riley, sheltering her, trying to see the wound, the bleeding. Stanching the bleeding with her over shirt, Jesse was still shooting. But her shield was up, the bullets bounced off of it, making red sparks.

Aria turned around, her eyes the hottest red yet, glaring at her. Her scars burned, wanting to turn this bitch to dust. Her beautiful nymph in her arms, losing blood quick.
